The STO is comprised of The Science and Technology Board (STB), scientific and technical committees as well as three executive bodies. These three bodies are: the Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS), the Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE), and the Collaboration Support Office (CSO) The Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) - NATO HQ, Brussels, Belgium - Provides executive and administrative support to the NATO Chief Scientist in his/her role as the chairperson of the STB and as the senior scientific advisor to NATO leadership. - Supports STB by connecting the programme of work and users. - Highlights the most relevant NATO STO Science & Technology results. The Collaboration Support Office (CSO) - Paris, France - Provides executive and administrative support to the NATO’s collaborative science and technology activities conducted by national experts within thematic research Panels and Group (technical committees). The Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation (CMRE) - La Spezia, Italy - Organizes and conducts scientific research and technology development, centered on the maritime domain, delivering innovative and field tested S&T solutions to address the defence and security needs of the Alliance.
