Vision Splendid is Australia’s first and only Outback Film Festival, with the annual event being staged in Winton, Koa Country, Queensland. Winton has played an integral role in the cultural life of Australia. Winton is the birthplace of Australia’s unofficial national anthem, “Waltzing Matilda” and was first publicly recited by Banjo Paterson at the town's iconic North Gregory Hotel in 1895. Situated in heart of the Australian outback it is also the birthplace of QANTAS. The creation of Winton’s Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival is taking steps to make Winton a unique visitor destination and a major focus for the Australian Film industry along with upholding its reputation as "Hollywood in the Outback!"
